How do I get rid of the fat on my face?

There is a secret sequence of facial exercises few people know about. It is the key to having a lean, chiseled face. Some people may be upset with me for revealing this well-kept secret, but I feel you deserve to know.
I'm kidding about the exercises. I'm sorry to disappoint you.

This is one of the most common questions I'm asked. There is no exercise that will help your face become lean because as far as we know, there is no way to spot reduce or direct your body to burn fat in a specific area.

Having a round face isn't necessarily a bad thing. In some cultures, it's considered a sign of good health. There are many factors that contribute to a full face. Fat is certainly one of them. However, another common cause is water retention.

So, how do we get a lean face?

Two things are necessary. First, you must reach a lower body fat. For some people, the face and stomach are the last places to lose fat and so there is no way to have a lean face without reaching low body fat. I did not see my face lean out until I was under 180 pounds (80kg).

The second is to avoid the water retention. The most common reason for this is allergies. Most people are mildly allergic to milk, but other foods such as wheat can cause the reaction as well. Try eliminating dairy for a few weeks. Many people find this can lean out their face quickly. Concerned about cutting dairy? Read the answer to Are milk and dairy good for fat loss?.
