Do you work hard, do everything right, and yet rarely achieve the results you had hoped for? As you struggle to make ends meet, do you sometimes wish you could be one of those lucky people who seem to smile their way through life and have success handed to them? Actually, you can.

Overview
For Jeremy — Thanks for helping me achieve my fitness goals. Expect miracles! Joe Vitale, 7-8-05, Texas
This is the message you will find written on the inside cover of one of the many copies I own of this novel. To say I'm not biased when reviewing this book would certainly be a lie. I consider myself to be a good friend of Joe Vitale's and love his work. So, why bother even writing a review?
Because I was introduced to his work before I knew him.
The Attractor Factor is a revision of an existing work that has been around for awhile. Joe originally released this work under the title Spiritual Marketing. When I started my network marketing business, this is one of the first resources that I came across. It was one of those fun books that was easy to read. In fact, I managed to read it from front cover to back cover in one sitting. It was inspirational.
Before I continue, let me get a little bit ahead of myself. The first time I cracked open the pages of that book, I had been working in "Corporate America" for over a decade. I was raised with the belief that I was one of the unlucky ones who would probably never make it rich, but at least if I worked really hard and tucked all of my money away, I might have a few beans to retire with. I was the stereotypical "computer geek." Granted, I had successfully overcome the demonic obesity that had plagued my life, but I was still that person who would stare out the window and wonder, "What would it be like ..." I held people who ran their own business in awe. It was some magical territory that wasn't for me. I really admired authors because I've always been passionate about writing. At that time, however, besides a few publications in technical trade magazines, my writing was mostly on notebook paper or scattered across online forums.
The Attractor Factor taught me that simply spouting affirmations or visualizing my goal wasn't enough. I had to learn to believe, and take that belief deep down into my core. It's not an easy task to overcome patterns, but Joe's book doesn't just tell you to "attract what you desire." No, it goes a step further and includes five specific steps to get to where you feel you deserve to be.
The self-help movement in America is at an all-time high and there are plenty of people promising the world but falling short on delivery. The only way I feel I can effectively review this book is by sharing my own, personal story of how it impacted my life. I could write another novel about how my life has changed by applying these principles, but I'll spare you in this review and just summarize a few "coincidences" in my life:
So why this review on a health and wellness page? Because this is precisely the part of living healthy I see most people struggle with: mindset. And I consider this book to be a phenomenal guide for working on the inner strength necessary to achieve change.
Pros
I rate this book 9 out of 10.
Take it from me, the biased reviewer ... this is one book you don't want to leave out of your personal success library. There is a reason it has sold so well around the world. Joe doesn't just preach it, he lives it. If you think he was born a bestselling author, think again. At one point he was homeless and living out of his car, now he is personally taking steps to help transform the world into a better place. This book was the difference between me staring out that office window dreaming of "What would it be like..." to founding a successful health and wellness company, publishing my own labor of love, literally touring the country and transforming my life forever.

The only way I feel I can effectively review this book is by sharing my own, personal story of how it impacted my life. I could write another novel about how my life has changed by applying these principles, but I'll spare you in this review and just summarize a few "coincidences" in my life:
- I attended a seminar in Canada by an Australian strength coach I admired
- He introduced me to a network marketing company as a vehicle for me to become an entrepreneur
- A doctor with that company helped formulate some of the low-glycemic products and I got in touch with him as part of my coaching practice (he is a recognized expert in the field of weight management)
- That doctor turned out to be from South Dakota, where "coincidentally" I was born
- That doctor happened to be my mother's former physician ... and in fact was the one who delivered me in 1974
- That doctor happened to be on the same flight from a company convention that I was ... oh, and as another "coincidence" he and his wife had assigned seats next to mine (yes, we talked nutrition the entire flight)
- That company led me to a seminar that inspired me to write my book
- In searching for ways to market it, I found Joe Vitale's website and recalled reading his book
- I contacted Joe and he told me his consulting fees
- I did not have the cash to invest, but felt this was the right path to take ... and it just so happened Joe was about to release a new product and could work with me if I agreed to be a case study
- Oh, and it just so happened he was looking to shed a few pounds (last I spoke with him, he was 85 pounds lighter)
- My package included onsite, hands-on training ... which led me to meet him in person a form an amazing friendship
- I was able to contribute a chapter to a new project he was working on, Life's Missing Instruction Manual : The Guidebook You Should Have Been Given at Birth
So why this review on a health and wellness page? Because this is precisely the part of living healthy I see most people struggle with: mindset. And I consider this book to be a phenomenal guide for working on the inner strength necessary to achieve change.
Pros
- A very easy read
- Joe is entertaining and you will have your share of laughs and inspiration
- This book focuses on what I believe is key for successful lifestyle changes: mindset
- I have used these principles in my own life with spectacular results
- For many people, some of these concepts may be too much of a leap of faith to take on
- Jim Rohn speaks of prosperity as being able to give out of your abundance. I feel the book sometimes focuses on the personal, material gain and there may be a disconnect for some readers between this and why that gain is valuable. I personally do not believe attracting a car is, of itself, important or meaningful in life — only through how it may inspire others, or how attracting abundance can create change and charity, do I see it creating value (note: I am a Christian and do not believe the Universe is neutral, but I do believe God's greatest gift to us is freedom of choice, so I view this book in light of how we can exercise that freedom in our lives)
I rate this book 9 out of 10.
